Wellness and Nutrition

Eat to Nourish

We believe we have an obligation to nourish the Princeton community in ways that go beyond serving meals. Our menus reflect the diverse backgrounds of our campus population, and we partner with student groups and faculty to honor various cultures through food. We build programs to educate about food-related challenges facing the planet. With academic and administrative departments, we lead teaching kitchens, health and sustainability programs, and culinary labs that complement Princeton courses.

Let's Build a Plan Together

Meet Our Registered Dietitian

Our campus registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) is here to help you improve your overall health and well-being through proper planning and nutrition. The campus dietitian plays a crucial role in promoting a healthy campus environment and supporting individuals in making informed dietary choices that contribute to their overall health and academic success. Schedule an appointment with our dietitian to learn how we can best meet your needs.

Inclusive Dining

At Princeton University, we make food allergy awareness and special dietary considerations a fundamental part of our inclusive dining program. These are just some examples of how we meet the needs of students with dietary restrictions.

If you have a food allergy or require a special diet, our registered dietitian can provide you with the information you need to make healthy food choices and review potential allergens. We will also make arrangements for you to meet the chef in charge of your particular residential college dining hall.

You can also filter our menus to look for foods that contain certain ingredients.

AllerTrain®

Princeton Campus Dining is passionate about food allergy safety. We are committed to continuous training, learning, and reinforcement of food allergy safety information.

We are now using training material from the nationally recognized, ANAB accredited, AllerTrain® program.

Our culinary and operational managers participate in the AllerTrain® gluten-free and food allergy training course.

This food allergy training course teaches food service professionals:

  • Top 9 foods causing food allergies
  • Proper protocol for preparing food to avoid cross-contact
  • How to better serve diners with special dietary needs
  • Recommendations for policy implementation
  • Information on current and pending legislation

By participating in this learning opportunity, our team is better equipped to handle student questions and concerns relating to food allergies and assist students with navigating our dining program.

If you have a food allergy related question or concern, ASK for a manager.  We are here to assist you. Look for our AllerTrained staff members wearing a patch on their chef coat or a pin on their shirt.

Campus Dining's Produce Giveaway: Promoting Health and Wellness

Campus Dining is excited to share a new initiative aimed at supporting health and wellness among our staff: the Produce Giveaway!

This program is designed to provide easy access to fresh, nutritious produce, encouraging healthier eating habits within our community.

Every two weeks, each dining unit conducts a random drawing where all staff members' names are placed in a hat. One lucky winner is selected and given the opportunity to choose $25 worth of fresh produce to take home. This initiative not only promotes wellness but also adds a fun and engaging element to our workplace.

We believe that access to healthy food is a fundamental part of overall well-being, and we're thrilled to offer this program to our dedicated staff.

Let's continue to nourish our bodies and minds together.
