“Secret” Seasoning

Typically we have these spices in our pantries, but feel free to add or substitute any of the items to match the cuisine. I like to use this spice mix on grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, and after I steam vegetables. It works well with any protein, starch, or vegetable. The brown sugar brings an ‘umami’ flavor that your family and guests will never figure out.

 

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup light brown sugar

  • ½ cup granulated garlic

  • ½ cup ground black pepper (here I prefer to grind my own black pepper)

  • ¼ cup kosher salt

  • 2 tbsp dry oregano

  • 2 tbsp smoked paprika

 

DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix all ingredients and store in airtight container until used.
